The Fact Finder invites artists to submit proposals that respond to the concept of “fact-finding”.

We are looking for works and art projects that rely on unmediated, first-hand experiences the artists have been through while aiming to better understand a specific topic, fact or everyday life aspects. Field research/immersive journalism/flâneur-ism/voyaging are examples of the processes we regard as fact-finding missions, among others. Our focus is on works involving a long-term commitment and preferably having an archiving/serial character.

Preferred mediums: drawing (drawing reportage), painting, installation, spoken word/storytelling, archiving and every other medium that connects well with the concept.

The selected works will be included in the 2018 exhibition program of The Fact Finder, a recently opened art space in Berlin (DE) that commits to showcase fact-finding artists going the full length of researching a particular topic.

We welcome submissions of any length, with images of works and/or links to online material, including the “making of”, if relevant to the concept. We want to have a bigger picture of the artistic process and context.

For the opening exhibition in September 2017, please send proposals no later than 29th August 2017. For the 2018 exhibition program, please send proposals no later than 15th November 2017
